  5. 1 large onion chopped coarsely
  6. 1/2 green capsicum chopped into small squares

  8. 1/2 tsp jeera
  9. 1 cinnamon stick
  10. 2-1/4 tsp cardamoms / powder
  11. 1 tsp turmeric powder
  12. 1 tbsp red chilli powder
  13. 1 tsp ginger powder
  14. 1 tsp garlic powder
  15. 1 tsp garam masala
  16. to taste Salt
  17. 1.5 tbsp curd
  18. 50 gm unsalted butter
  19. 2 tbsp oil
  20. 1/2 cup water
  21. 6 Monaco biscuits
  22. For garnish:-
  23. 3 tbsp heavy cream
  24. 1 tbsp Coriander chopped fine
  25. 1 tbsp toomato chopped fine
  26. 1 tbsp onion chopped fine
  27. 1 tbsp chaat masala
  28. 1 tbsp tamarind chutney

Steps to make to make Paneer Butter Masala Canapés

  1. Make a smooth paste of the onion, tomato, cashew and green chilli.
  2. To a non stick pan add oil and fry the cinnamon stick and jeera until they sputter.
  3. Now add the purée to this pan and cook on medium flame.
  4. Add ginger, garlic powder (or ginger garlic paste), salt, turmeric, red chilli powder.
  5. Add the capsicum and curd now. Give it a good mix. Add the garam masala and stir.
  6. Add the water now. Cover and cook on medium low flame until the raw smell of chilli powder leaves.
  7. Finally add the paneer cubes. Cover all pieces well with the masala.
  8. Add the butter melted. Mix gently. Garnish with coriander. If masala is too watery then cook for more time because when kept on the biscuits it might soak in and cause it to break.
  9. Once the paneer butter masala cools a little, place Monaco biscuits on a tray. Place 1tbsp of the paneer butter masala with atleast 2 pieces paneer per canapé.
  10. Garnish with coriander, onion, tomato chopped and sprinkle some chaat masala if desired. Drizzle some tamarind chutney lightly. Using a spoon drizzle fresh cream over the canapés. Serve immediately.
